This copy inscribed by author to the writer Anna Lannutti in 1933, like La vendetta. This copy lacks covers or a title page.
This work tells a story of Italy in 1840s & 1850s. This comic satire — the title is a play on words, as “prisco” means “ancient” or “of olde,” but it is also the horseman’s name — is also inscribed to Anna Lannutti: “Ad Anna Lannutti, gentile e fervida cultrice della Muse, per ringraziarla della parole di loda e di plausa/ scritte dopo la lettura del mio sonetto ‘Fine l’anno’ / Riccardo Cordiferro / New York, 20 Gennaio 1933” (To Anna Lannutti, kind and ardent cultivator of the Muses, to thank her for her words of praise and approval written after the reading of my sonnet, ‘End of Year’).
Lannutti's verses appear in the December 1932 issue of Il Carroccio, q.v., showing as we have seen often that an author's politics were not important when it came to getting work published (in Il Carroccio). Or maybe it demonstrates - see Salvatore Abinante's work here - that Cordiferro could be friendly with, even publish the work of, writers whose politics were not necessarily consistent with his own.
