Title

The New Book of Caricatures by Enrico Caruso. New York: La Follia di New York - Marziale Sisca, 1965.

Description

This later edition, the most commonly available one (dated 1965), lacks the biographical entry at the outset, the ads at the end, and most of the Italian-language material.

However, it does contain Caruso’s letters in the Italian original, accompanied by translations into English that are not found in the original edition. These later editions also contain more caricatures than earlier printings, reflecting the continuing output by Caruso, who published drawings for La Follia until shortly before his death in 1921 at age 48.

This edition is unpaginated, with a 2-page preface by publisher Marziale Sisca; the drawings are followed by about 42 pages of letters from Caruso photo-reproduced & translated.

This may be the last edition (Caruso died in July 1921). Altogether less lavishly produced than first (1908) edition.
